Y’all know that when it comes to spring and summer time, I have never been the best at buying the appropriate clothing. I’m usually wearing a sweater and jeans in the middle of the southern summer heat, and everyone stares at me with judgement in their eyes as I stroll down the street.
Well this year I have determined that not only will the weird side glances come to an end, but I will also start wearing normal spring and summer clothing! (and everyone said a good amen!)
With that being said, yesterday I hit the town with the gals and scoped out Madewell’s new spring collection, that way I can start getting an idea on what I’m loving and need this spring season. Below I’ve added all the items that I tried on and LOVED, and a few other items that I loved but forgot to take pictures in.
So grab some sweet tea, take a seat and start shopping your favorite spring pieces before they’re all out! P.S. some of these items are on SALE! You’re welcome.
I absolutely LOVED this blouse. I preferred it in red, because I felt like it was such a pretty, poppy color for this season, and was more flattering. It could easily be dressed up or dressed down, and overall was a good basic piece for the closet. I’m wearing an XXS in both. Also I loved these shorts! I’m not a big fan of straight denim shorts because I can never find a pair that fit my legs well. These gave a light wash denim feel, while still being flouncy and comfortable! I’m wearing an XS in the shorts.
Okay I seriously fan girl-ed over this top the second I saw it on the hanger. I am always looking for a good white top that I can dress up or down, wear with shorts, jeans, slacks, etc and can be used for any occasion. This top is the one. It’s the definition of a “staple piece,” for any girls wardrobe. I’m wearing an XXS again, but it’s still super flouncy. This will definitely be a piece I get for this Spring and Summer.
Y’all. This. Sweater. Is. A. Dream. Imagine a cloud turned into a lightweight sweater, and this is it. I’m already a huge sweater girl, but this one is actually made for spring. Not super thick, fun playful colors, and looks adorable with these flouncy shorts or tucked into some distressed skinnies. Another piece that is worth every single penny. I’m wearing a size L in this, and it fit perfectly.
SOME MORE PIECES I LOVED BUT DIDN’T TAKE PICS IN:
Happy spring shopping friends, and if you liked this try-on haul and would like to see more in the future please give this a like at the bottom!
